Ludovico Einaudi – Divenire

Divenire (in English “to become”) is a collaboration of Piano and Orchestra generated by Italian composer Ludovico Einaudi. Released in 2007, the album also includes his critically acclaimed track “Primavera”. Shortly after its release on 19 February, Einaudi went on tour to various places in the UK, playing both the music on Divenire and orchestral arrangements of his most famous works to promote the album.

udovico Einaudi OMRI (born 23 November 1955 in Turin, Piedmont) is an Italian contemporary music composer and pianist. Born in Turin, Italy, Einaudi’s mother played to him on the piano as a child. He began his musical training at the Conservatorio Verdi in Milan, gaining a diploma in composition in 1982. That same year, he studied with Luciano Berio and gained a scholarship to the Tanglewood Music Festival. After studying at the Conservatory in Milan, and subsequently with Berio, he spent several years composing in traditional forms. In the mid-1980s he began to search for a more personal expression in a series of works for dance and multimedia, and later for piano. His music is ambient, meditative and often introspective, drawing on minimalism, world music, and contemporary pop. He has made a significant impact in the film world, with four international awards to his name

LOST – Tabula Rasa (J. Purdy – Wash Away)

This is the ending of the 3rd episode of the first season of Lost. It ends with one of my favorite close ups of all time. Excellent direction by Jack Bender.

Song is “Wash Away” by Joe Purdy

And oh Iove been cryin
And oh Iove been cryin
And oh no more cryin
No, no more cryin here

We get along Lord, but not today

LOST – Tabula Rasa (Joe Purdy – Wash Away)
(Video hosted on Youtube.)

ost is an American serial drama television series that predominantly follows the lives of the survivors of a plane crash on a mysterious tropical island. There, they must negotiate an unknown monster, an unpredictable group of prior occupants, strange, other worldly island inhabitants, polar bears, and each other as they try to survive and attract rescue. The main ingredients that have made Lost an icon for success have been its international ensemble cast, plotline of mysteries, flashbacks, flash-forwards and flash sideways.

It was created by Jeffrey Lieber, J.J. Abrams and Damon Lindelof, was produced by Bad Robot Productions, and was filmed almost entirely on location in Hawaii by their local production company Grass Skirt Productions. The show was produced by ABC Studios (formerly Touchstone Television) and airs on the ABC network in the US. Its musical score is composed by Michael Giacchino. Lost has also been known for its innovative nontraditional marketing, including a world-spanning alternate reality game (ARG) in 2006 called The Lost Experience.

I got troubles oh, but not today
Cause they’re gonna wash away
They’re gonna wash away

And I have sins Lord, but not today
Cause they’re gonna wash away
They’re gonna wash away

And I had friends oh, but not today
Cause they done washed away
They done washed away

And oh Iove been cryin
And oh Iove been cryin
And oh no more cryin
No, no more cryin here

We get along Lord, but not today
Cause we gonna wash away
We gonna wash away

And I got troubles oh, but not today
Cause they gonna wash away
This old heart gonna take them away
